I was reading an instructible on how to modify a electrical outlet with usb chargers using some adpaters and epoxy. This solution is only $10 and looks much better to me.

Output voltage: USB: DC 5.0V 600mA

Total or per each?

This item is currently waiting on final UL Approval.

That's a deal breaker for me.

I'm guessing it's 600mA each, but I'm sure that would be clarified. Why is the UL a deal-breaker. They are not available now anyway. They're supposed to be come out in spring 2010 and I'm assuming when they're released they will have UL approval.

Why is the UIL a deal-breaker.

If I'm going to stick a multi-hundred dollar device into it to charge, I'd like some assurance it's not going to suddenly overvoltage and fry the device.  I figure Underwriters Laboratory is checking that aspect of it.

Yes, but I think you're missing my point. My understanding is that they are awaiting UL certification before they release it which is why it's not coming out until the spring. Maybe I'm reading it wrong...
