I already have everything I need to get started.  I have DirectTv, 3 ghz hyper-threading intel processor, 180 gb sata HD, 512 x 2 sdram and Hauppauge USB/WinTv video capture.

All I need now is to find out how the heck am I suppose to get the channelsto chnage with no IRport.  I looked on the back of my DirectTv receiver and there is only "RF Remote". I have searched the boards for "Rf Remote" but it doesnt return any results.  Has anyone else been successful using the RF remote port? Please help.....

Thanks in advance,
Lou

Patience, this isn't the most active message board.

I have never seen an RF transmitter like the popular IR blasters for this kind of use, though I would not be surprized if someone else here has (or can offer a better solution than I).  If you cannot tune your receiver via IR or cable, then you would seem to have two options: build your own RF transceiver and write/adapt drivers for it, or get a receiver with IR.
