I emailed Neuros. They don't recommend it be taken "outside the house" and that it's not made to be portable (i.e. no battery power in the foreseeable future). Although they did tell me that it runs on 5v 1500ma.
pfttt you could always build some sort of steel enclosure/padding and rig something up... I assume. you know in the spiriit of doing a true hardware hack/mod!
there are comprable products out there that might do the same thing that are cheaper (and you could care less about them breaking...) maybe poke around ebay.
