Nope, don't use FFDShow.
You've sufficiently derailed the point which is the Mac Mini is an overpriced unit for a PVR or a PVR Client. Fantastic, you can build one quieter, cooler, and more blinky....Very happy for you. What, you can STILL do it cheaper than a Mac Mini too? Huh, so point made then I guess.
LOL, and you think thats acceptable?! Man, a Zalman on high isn't anything close to be considered quiet.
Yeah....well again you're making my point for me. To get "better cooling" I have to have my Zalman cranked up to full, where as the stock cooler keeps reasonable temps and spins down more often than not. And I can't do that with the Zalman unless I crawl under the desk every time to turn it down. I'm not saying there isn't a place for aftermarket coolers, but I think tossing the stock one by default because...well, its stock....is foolish. Test it, and if its not to your satisfaction then do something about it. Most systems I build do fine on stock cooling.
