Thanks for the write-up.  I ended up buying your exact same setup, and I'm now waiting for the parts to arrive.

Odd question.  Are there any specific packs that you are aware ofthat have better music or at least more current music?  Anime highlight music from the 90's doesn't get these toes a-tappin'.

You should look for the "Dance Dance Revolution - Mix" packs. They are direct recreations of the DDR songs and steps.

Good to know.  I'm looking for something more like current rave hits or current music that's been ont he radio and usch in the past 8 months though.  I wasn't sure if that was possible but it'd be pretty cool.  Kind of a mute man's version of karoake.

Just to let everyone know, I got the DDR working...  The wife was uninterested in the concept, until she saw me play it.  After she stoped laughing at how stupid I looked, she asked if she could try...  Now, she loves it.

Heh, isn't that the way =)

I've got to get this setup in my basement as my sedentary lifestyle is catching up with my gut...

DDR = <3

I have Stepmania on all the computers in my house. I also modded my xbox gamestop pad to work with both xbox and pc(xbox uses usb) all you need is the xbcd driver.

www.bemanistyle.com is a good source for news on all things bemani(music based games) theres also a simfile database...alot are copyrighted though so if your not into that just dont goto that section.
