They actually dared to compare it to an AIW? Also, no Hauppauge comparisons, especially against the PVR-500?!

Seemed like a lame review to me. A brief mention of the pvr500 at the end saying that it's the only comparable card and they don't even compare them?? As for the AIW, I thought I'd read that the new AIW actually had hardware encoding. Anyone know if this is true?

Thanks for the post SuperG, my beef is with the lame reviewer... How can you judge the quality of the cards video recording based on three totally different screen shots?  Come on reviewers, at least make an effort to have the same screen shot (or close to it) for letting us see for ourselves if we see any differences! What a  crappy!

Why do you assume it's your issue?
All you did was post the link Wink

We're not trying to shoot the messenger. Just saying how poor Anandtech did on that.

I agree, keep posting. Then it's easier to understand where people's opinions come from.

Just noticed this comment...
Nope. ATI has the Theater 550 Pro if you want hardware encoding.

This is addressed in the anandtech article on page 3:

One more thing to note about the AIW cards is that they don't have MPEG-2 encoding in hardware

The Nvidia looks good, but I don't plan on trading in my Hauppauge cards.
