I'm talking about the brand Universal here, not the idea of a universal remote. I've always heard about the Logitechs and some others (I personally use a Phillips Neo Pronto.), but I haven't heard much about Universal remotes. So I saw a couple of people recommend them as an alternative to the Logitechs and decided to do a little reading about them. I will say they look pretty good. They have all the features of the Logitechs, but the option I like is that a lot of them also have RF capability. So I was wondering if anyone here had tried them and what they thought.

Here's some links:
Universal's HomePage:

Their Professional Series:

Their Consumer Series:

NewEgg's product line:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Manufactory=2157&N=50002157&SpeTabStoreType=0

NewEgg only carries 1 of the professional and most of the consumer series. The prices all seem really reasonable though. Now I'm just wondering how well they work...

I don't know how you guys think, buy those LCD models are the ugliest remotes I've ever seen.  They belong on the set of a Star Trek episode, or something-I don't know what.

Just so you know that gyration remote that I mentioned before is also RF just to give you some other options. I personally have never seen the ones you mentioned though. Sorry, I know that's not too helpful.

I feel like I read that Sub used a MX-500, but I don't remember for sure. Other than that, I don't remember many people using one. Maybe they really only get used in Professional installations and those people aren't really posting much here.
